I just finished watching season 2 of the new Doctor Who.

First Season:
-I really enjoyed the blossoming of the relationship between Nine and Rose. I almost like them better, and I did until about The Idiot's Lantern.
-I wish that they had visited more places than Earth. I understand that it is a TV show made on Earth, but I think it would have been cool to see all those universes Rose mentioned to Jackie and Mickey.

Second Season:
-I liked CE, but I love DT and his wackiness and his pinstripes.
-I really didn't like the alternate universe episodes.
-I was very tired of Mickey until Doomsday; I'm glad his character finally grew after nearly two who seasons.
-On that note, I didn't like how Rose toys with Mickey's heart. I'm sure it's not intentional, but it still bothered me.
-I really REALLY liked The Girl in the Fireplace. I didn't care for Sophia Myles, but that is because I watched and enjoyed Moonlight until the last 5 or 6 episodes, when it got tired and boring, but that's another rant.

I don't know how I can watch the next season and 3/4 without Rose!! I foresee SUPERangst!Doctor in the future, and one reason I love this show is that no matter how bad the situation is, the Doctor is goofy and generally happy-go-lucky. I cried for the last 20 minutes of Doomsday, and even though I knew Rose was leaving (damn you iMDB and your listing of how many episodes of a series an actor is in!), I still thought and hoped she could hold on just a little longer. By the final scene, I was bawling. The end was so beautiful and so sad. Now, I haven't watched all of the old Doctor Who episodes, but from what I understand on Wikipedia, the Doctor was never so close to his companions. I mean, he just left Sarah Jane and never came back for her. This makes me happy because now I feel like the Doctor will do anything to get Rose back, but sad because DT crying in the TARDIS is heart-breaking.

I am SO glad you have enjoyed this show. I started watching it out of idle interest and by episode three I was hooooooked.

I know you haven't seen any of the Confidentials (behind the scenes 'making of' featurette they do for every episode - I'd have sent them if I had them, but I don't anymore), but they make it very clear that Rose loves the Doctor and (more importantly) the Doctor loves Rose. He has NEVER been more than 'fond' of a companion before so it's a pretty big deal.

You have to catch up before the end of this season so you (along with all the rest of us anxiously awaiting Doctor/Rose shippers) can see what happens when she comes back!!!!

Oh and I SOBBED during Doomsday. I mean SOBBED. It was ridiculous.

I like that a lot about their relationship. The Doctor, after centuries of loneliness, has Rose who understands him and with whom he can laugh and be serious. They make me happy. :)

I hated it when the transmission cut off! I knew he was going to say that he loved her and it makes it all the more heart-wrenching.

They make me happy too. They just seemed so *right* together.

I was BESIDE myself at the very end of Doomsday when he got cut off. I was a bit distraught myself:)

We know that Rose is back for the last three episodes this season (and I won't ruin anything for you if I tell we have already seen her a couple of times - but the Doctor hasn't yet! It's all very exciting.) and I cannot *wait* to see how they deal with the reunion. After they get over the initial shock of seeing each other again; the Doctor's next words better be 'oh and I love you too'. SERIOUSLY.

Let me know what you think of Season 3. There are some really good episodes (Blinkis still my favorite episode of all time), but Martha got on my nerves. Never fear though because I love the season 4 companion. She is perfect.

Oh and I love your Who icons:)

In Runaway Bride Donna drove me up the freaking wall. I was SO annoyed when I found out that she was going to be the season 4 companion. She has been toned way down however and I like her a lot now. She is a refreshing change from Martha who started annoying me around episode three and just got worse through the rest of the season. You will see why.

Oh yeah, I love Jack too! Could a man POSSIBLY be prettier? It's almost ridiculous. He does star in Torchwood, but to be honest - I just CANNOT watch that show. I tried the first season, but aside from Jack I really didn't like any of the other characters and even Jack got turned into this tragic emo character that just got old after a while. It's also a lot more 'adult' than DW and some of it is just gratuitous and unnecessary IMHO.

I was watching the Christmas Special, and I almost started crying again. I got so sad when he saw Rose's T-shirt and when he had a flashback at the reception. DT plays heartbroken so well.

From what I've seen of Donna so far, she gets on my nerves. :( Maybe I'll like her better in Season 4.

Thanks; I snagged them from a few places, but I will probably make my own eventually when I figure out how to screen-cap using DivX or Quicktime.

Another thought that I forgot to put in my main post was that I want more Jack Harkness! I know he comes back a little, but I like him a lot. I also know he stars in Torchwood, but I don't know if I would like that show.

I deleted and re-replied because I wanted to use one of my DW icons. ;P

Yay! Another Who-Addict to add to our little tribe! And don't worry, you'll like Donna MUCH better in Season 4. I *loathed* her character to the point of almost giving up on Series 4, but now I love her.

T and I are waiting with baited breath for Rose to reappear - if things don't work for her and the Doctor I think we'll be taking the first plane to Wales to kick Russell T. Davies' butt.

I'm also hoping that we see more of Jack on Doctor Who, as I like his DW persona much better than Torchwood!Jack.

Oh, and my icon is a Classic Who reference - gotta get you hooked on that next. Tom Baker is *almost* as great as David Tennant (Doctor-wise, not delicious-wise).

As I'm watching Season 3, I want him to mention Rose more. I feel like he has forgotten her a little. :( Well, I know that she show is coming back in 2010; maybe by then Billie Piper will wise up and sign on for the next few seasons.

Ah, Jack. I want more of him in DW as well.

There are a lot of references back to the original series, so I would like to see the most important episodes to understand the back story.
