MOAR DOCTOR WHO?!
I just finished watching season 2 of the new Doctor Who.
First Season:
-I really enjoyed the blossoming of the relationship between Nine and Rose. I almost like them better, and I did until about The Idiot's Lantern.
-I wish that they had visited more places than Earth. I understand that it is a TV show made on Earth, but I think it would have been cool to see all those universes Rose mentioned to Jackie and Mickey.
Second Season:
-I liked CE, but I love DT and his wackiness and his pinstripes.
-I really didn't like the alternate universe episodes.
-I was very tired of Mickey until Doomsday; I'm glad his character finally grew after nearly two who seasons.
-On that note, I didn't like how Rose toys with Mickey's heart. I'm sure it's not intentional, but it still bothered me.
-I really REALLY liked The Girl in the Fireplace. I didn't care for Sophia Myles, but that is because I watched and enjoyed Moonlight until the last 5 or 6 episodes, when it got tired and boring, but that's another rant.
I don't know how I can watch the next season and 3/4 without Rose!! I foresee SUPERangst!Doctor in the future, and one reason I love this show is that no matter how bad the situation is, the Doctor is goofy and generally happy-go-lucky. I cried for the last 20 minutes of Doomsday, and even though I knew Rose was leaving (damn you iMDB and your listing of how many episodes of a series an actor is in!), I still thought and hoped she could hold on just a little longer. By the final scene, I was bawling. The end was so beautiful and so sad. Now, I haven't watched all of the old Doctor Who episodes, but from what I understand on Wikipedia, the Doctor was never so close to his companions. I mean, he just left Sarah Jane and never came back for her. This makes me happy because now I feel like the Doctor will do anything to get Rose back, but sad because DT crying in the TARDIS is heart-breaking.
