After a year of waiting, I saw Enchanted on Wednesday and I can't wait to see it again. Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz still know how to write really catchy and clever songs. I bought the soundtrack and "So Close" is becoming one of my all-time favorite songs. The animation was also superb, but I may be biased since I LOVE traditional animation and want to throttle almost all CGI. It was funny, but there was a few jokes put in there just for the kiddos. However, there were times during the movie when I was all smiles; this movie makes you feel better.

This weekend I finally sat down and watched Moonlight, the new vampire show on CBS. I saw the previews and as an old Buffy fan, I had to check it out. So, I set the DVR at home, but because of school, I watched 10 minutes of the first episode and then didn't really get to watch the rest until this weekend. The first episode was a little iffy, so that also kept me from marathon-ing the rest immediately. Despite my original ambivalence, I really enjoy the show now. It's hot and angsty AND a murder-mystery, stuff all up my alley.

Finally, the boyfriend burned my the original cast recording of Sweeney Todd. It is so amazing, and I can't wait for the movie.

Tomorrow I must start writing on my 12-page research paper for Political Science. Wish me luck!

Thanksgiving break has finally come, thank God. I have one more class today and then a week of homework and my crazy family gatherings.

Over this "time off" I will need to do the following:
1. Write my 3-page paper for Rhetoric
2. Begin writing my 12-page paper for Poli Sci
3. Read French Lieutenant's Woman
4. Read several chapters I've fallen behind on for Poli Sci
5. Avoid/mitigate familial lunacy
6. Do fun things and not completely lock myself up in my dungeon working of stuff I should have worked on this week
7. Figure out when my finals are
8. Pay my fine to the City of Denton because Sgt. Douchebag saw that my inspection was out of date and waited until I moved to pull me over and cite me
10. Not go crazy

After 7 weeks at school, I finally went to the library. It is the most confusing place EVER.

I was looking through the science section for books on Krakatoa, which have call numbers beginning with QE. So, I ventured to the science section and the shelves go from QD to QH, and I can't find QE. So after trying desperately to find QE by circling the shelves, I saw a box on the bottom shelf that says "QE shelved upstairs." Then I wandered around looking for stairs, found the stairs, and then wandered around some more on the second floor until I found QE. I got my books, and then realized that the third book I needed was in QH, so I repeated the getting lost process and found my third book. The library wants me to get lost. It is such a maaaaaaze.

I've also been having a lot of problems coming up with my topic for my Poli. Sci. 12 page research paper. It has to been on a country and a political theory, but I couldn't figure out which country I wanted to do. I meant o do a lot of research this weekend, but I went home and I couldn't access the school's article databases. Instead, I watched more Avatar and Mulan, which are both China-y, and therefore could be justified. But in my excursion to the library, I finally read some stuff on China, and now I've finally got a general direction and a few ideas, but I'm still unsure. Meh.

My friend let me borrow The Jekyll and Hyde Original Broadway Recording, and I've listened to 3 songs, and I loooooove it.

So, college is so like high school, and also so incredibly unlike anything else in my life. I mean, I still have lots of free time, and I think I have even more than marching band season, so the ULTIMATE STUDYING hasn't really set in. I do have to read a lot, and I am definitely not succumbing to Sparknotes ever in college. Despite the reading and stuff, I watched the entire series of Friends. All ten seasons, save one disk in season 8. Also, I have rewatched nearly all of Avatar. More on Avatar later.

My French class alternates between mind-numbingly dull and ridiculously tedious, which makes me crazy. Same with my computer class. My political science class is awesome x a bazillion. It makes me think and read and I'm learning the most in this class. My professor is ultimately brilliant and really and my mentor. I talked to him on Friday about next semester's schedule and since every class I need/want to take in the afternoon, I'm going to be taking a 3000-level class. But the assistant Provost and my mentor believe in me, so I'm going to go for it. It's either going to be a class about Shakespeare or Myths Across Religions.

So, Avatar. I'm so excited about this season. The first three episodes have been made of AWESOME, but I foresee way more awesome in the future. I love all of the Katara/Aang stuff, especially teh love from Katara's side. But I NEED more Toph and her sarcasm and her funny with Sokka. So, in conclusion, Fridays can't come fast enough.

I saw Across the Universe on Wednesday, and I loved it. I've been a Beatles fan as long as I can remember, so it took all of my restraint to keep from singing along. I did mouth along, however. I also love rackin' out to the soundtrack. My only complaint was that the story was subservient to the music, but whatever, it's the Beatles.

Movies/TV shows I've watched/rewatched since coming to college: Friends entire series, Most of Avatar, some of Arrested Development season 2, Pride and Prejudice, Across the Universe, Death at a Funeral (So funny! I love Alan Tudyk and Matthew MacFadyen), Serenity, The Music Man, Victor/Victoria, Mulan, Anastasia, New Labyrinth DVD, and Clueless. I've also started watching Big Shots, and I'm continuing to watch Ugly Betty. But Ugly Betty is frustrating, 'cause I don't like Henry, but whatever.

Books I've read/reread: Good Omens, Stardust, Pride and Prejudice, Lost in Austen (A choose your own adventure based on Pride and Prejudice), and The Marquise of O-.

Random stuff:

-I think I've become a better typist
-David Bowie on Spongebob? WTF?
-I'm posting art again on deviantart, so go see it. I've been drawing/coloring Katara a lot lately.
-I seem of always start my entries with "So".
-My phone suffered severe casualties in the Great Biking Accident of '07. I just got my new phone and I have to get numbers again. :( Also, my forearms got destroyed and I'm going to scar. :( + :(

Whoo. That's a lot. I'm going to try to write here more often now.
